Description

Pokemon Soothing Silver is a ROM hack of Pokemon Soul Silver that enhances the original experience with new features and improvements. It introduces regional forms, custom shiny Pokemon, and various Quality of Life updates like reusable TMs and early EXP Share. The game also ramps up the difficulty with stronger trainers and Pokemon, making for a more challenging and engaging adventure.

With enhanced Pokemon viability, revamped moves, and new encounters, Pokemon Soothing Silver offers a fresh take on the classic Soul Silver formula while preserving the nostalgic feel. Whether you’re a veteran or new to the game, this hack provides an exciting and polished experience with plenty of surprises along the way.

Story

For the past two years, an unusual phenomenon has been occurring across Johto: Pokemon species have mysteriously started disappearing, only for regional variants of those species to emerge in their place. The appearance of these regional forms has left the people of Johto in a state of confusion and concern. How are these changes affecting the balance between humans and Pokemon? And what greater consequences could this strange occurrence have on the future of the region?

Features

  • Regional Pokemon Forms: Some Pokemon have new forms! These include Electrode, Marowak, Exeggutor, Growlithe, Geodude, Sandshrew and More.
  • Custom Shinies: 65 new shiny forms, plus a higher shiny rate (1/2048) to make shiny hunting more fun!
  • Quality of Life (QOL) Updates:
    • Reusable TMs
    • Move reminders at every Pokemon Center
    • Early EXP Share
    • Grinding Trainer in the old GTS
  • New Rival: Gold/Kris can now be battled as a second rival!
  • Increased Difficulty: Boss trainers have stronger teams with better moves. Wild Pokemon and trainers have higher levels, starting from the 4th gym. A challenge tougher than vanilla SoulSilver but easier than StormSilver.
  • More Pokemon Early On: Gen 1 & 2 Pokemon (except legendaries) are available before the League. Gen 3 & 4 Pokemon unlock after the League.
  • Variety in Encounters:
    • Less repetition of Pokemon across routes.
    • New Pokemon, like Elekid, show up early.
    • Gym Leader Morty now has a full ghost squad: Misdreavus, Gengar, Mismagius, and Alolan Marowak.
  • Enhanced Pokemon Viability:
    • Pokemon get new moves, abilities, and typings.
    • For example, Yanmega is Dragon-Bug type and Beedrill learns Megahorn at higher levels.
  • Improved Moves:
    • Some moves are reworked for better battle use.
    • HMs are now better, like Flash becoming an Electric-type move with priority.
  • Easier Evolution: No more impossible evolutions!
  • Type Effectiveness Changes:
    • Ice-type is now immune to Ice and resists Water/Ground moves.
  • New Events: Find super bosses and legendary Pokemon!
  • And more surprises!
