Introduction

PokeRogue is a browser-based roguelite based around the Pokémon battle engine. This game was developed from the ground up using the Phaser3 2D game framework. As a roguelite, it’s a game where you play temporary sessions or ‘runs’ rather than a single playthrough, though there are many unlockables that carry over to make future runs easier. This game has no overworld, and the entire game takes place within the battle engine for the sake of simplicity.

FAQs (Must Read)

• The game runs really slow, how can I fix this?
  • Go in your browser settings and enable ‘Hardware Acceleration’ or ‘Graphics Acceleration’ and it shouldn’t be slow anymore.
• What do (P) and (N) next to moves and abilities mean?
  • (P) means partially implemented, so one or more intended effects do not function as intended. (N) means not implemented, so you generally shouldn’t teach moves with this indicator.
• What does it mean when a Pokémon has a purple box around it on the starter select?
  • Try picking one for your party if you happen to have one.
• After fusing Pokémon, my game is running noticeably slower. How can I fix this?
  • The fusion palette swapping uses a heavy shader that may not perform well on all systems. If it’s affecting you and you’d prefer to run the game faster over seeing the palette swaps, you can turn off Fusion Palette Swaps in the settings.
